Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the answers to some of the questions that come up most as one is exploring working with me.
During our consult call, I will gladly answer any additional questions you may have.

I work best with adults who are trying to figure out what the next step is in their lives. That could be within their career, interpersonal relationships or their relationship with themselves just to name a few. Clients I work with are open to exploring how their experiences in the past have shaped how they see the world today. Together, we utilize our creative superpowers to help them overcome negative thoughts, unhealthy behavior patterns and challenges with trusting their ability to make sound decisions.  Feel free to take the therapy match quiz to see if we are a good fit for one another. If so, book a consult call so that we can get to work!

You can think of our 20 free minute consultation as an opportunity for us to get a feel for each other and to determine if I will be the best fit to support you in creating the life you desire.  I’ll ask you about what brings you to therapy, how are you hoping to be supported and I’ll share what you can expect from me as your therapist. You can ask me as many questions as you’d like. If it feels like a good match, we’ll proceed with scheduling your first session and get to work!

Individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes long and cost $157. A special introductory package is available along with a package for clients who are interested in committing to therapy long term.

At this current time, I do not accept insurance, in which you can read more here. I will gladly support you should you desire to submit for reimbursement on your own by providing you with a superbill (a monthly review of your invoices) to give to your insurance carrier. I accept cash,  credit and debit as forms of payment, which includes Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts.

I am aware of the countless benefits to therapy and that for some, costs serve as a barrier. To address such concern, I offer services at a reduced rate. At this current time, I do not have any sliding scale slots available.

Consider the first session is an opportunity for you to release your concerns and discuss who you currently define yourself to be. I’ll be here to listen and share with you how I intend to support you. If this is your first time in therapy and you’re feeling a little nervous about this process, we’ll even talk about that too and I hope I can provide you with some comfort in realizing how much of an accomplishment it is to commit to working on and improving you!

One thing I always want people to know is that I am a human first before I am a therapist. Just like you, I am striving to show up as my best self each day, in which I hope I can relate to you in that the process of doing so is not always easy. As your therapist, you can always expect that I will demonstrate authenticity, integrity and compassion. I’m here to help you navigate the roadblocks you experience with care by acknowledging your strengths and sometimes that may require calling you out to help you see how you can continue to grow. My ethical duties as a licensed provider are always placed at the forefront of the work I do in which I am committed to continued learning, being reliable and timely and communicating with you every step of the way.

Therapy is not a one size fit all process and the areas of growth each person wants to focus on may require different levels of commitment. To ensure I that I fully review all of your concerns, our first 3 sessions are weekly to ensure we work as a team to fully review your history and to create your treatment plan.

Once your fully history has been reviewed and goals have been identified, you will be recommended to participate in either weekly or biweekly sessions. As you continue to progress in treatment, our sessions will decrease and serve as a check-in on how you are maintaining all of the progress you have made throughout our journey together.

We will meet on video  via Simple Practice which is an electronic health record system that is within compliance with federal guidelines to protect your privacy. I currently have availability weekday evenings and every other Saturday.

It all depends on the goals set during treatment and the amount of effort put forth in utilizing the skills taught and receiving the information provided during sessions. For some clients therapy can last for 2-3 months. For others, it can take longer. Remaining committed to your goals  and actively playing a part of this journey will help you to see the growth you are making throughout this process.

For all clients that I work with, I request that you commit to at least 5 sessions to begin to see benefits and 3 months to really see progression with your goals. For those interested in a special introductory package to give therapy a try, please review Therapy Services for more information.

Sometimes this happens and the journey towards freedom and authenticity varies from person to person. If you have tried therapy before and wonder if this experience will be the same, please know that I try my best to provide you with an experience that is uniquely yours and cultivates the change you desire to see within yourself. It is also important to note that while I am here to support you on the journey, you must do the work to see the change which includes making sure you attend and participate in your appointments, completing homework assignments and applying what we do in session to real life situations.

If you find that the work we are doing is not beneficial, please know that this is a safe place to express that. I will support you in exploring  options to support your growth which includes possibly changing how we conduct our sessions, finding a therapist who better matches your needs or determining what other types of resources may be helpful for you.
