Chalice Nelson LPC, Black Therapist in Georgia, Therapist for Creatives

Hi! I’m Chalice and I’m here to empower you to use your creativity to attain the life you are dreaming of.

My Creative Story

Hello! I’m Chalice (she/her) and I’m originally from upstate New York. My creative journey began when I was 4 years old when my family would gather along with friends for my Envogue concerts in kitchen. I pursued music throughout my primary school years and with the support of my family, I was able to explore other creative abilities I possess via crafting, entrepreneurship and fashion just to name a few. I am grateful for the ways in which my creativity was nurtured as it gave me an opportunity to explore my imagination and build problem solving skills.

While I transitioned away from music when I began college, I later came to realize that curating experiences for people was and continues to be one of my favorite ways to be creative. Whether it is planning a party, creating affirmation cards, developing a workbook, etc., I am filled with so much zest and courage when an idea in my head becomes a tangible thing. It’s extremely special when my creative efforts positively impact on the lives of others. I guess you can see how becoming a counselor became a part of the journey!

Utilizing my creativity to give voice to my emotions has been an empowering journey and I hope to guide clients on honing into the superpower of creativity as well. Within the therapy room, you can expect for me to demonstrate a holistic, culturally competent, trauma informed lense that promotes the use of positive psychology and mindfulness techniques to support and foster growth. I trust that you are the expert of your own life and I strongly desire to work collaboratively with you to help you get the most out of this therapeutic experience.

Me in the Therapy Room

As a therapist, I strive to be one of biggest cheerleaders for my clients! I’m always rooting for you to attain all of your heart’s desires. I’m known for being gentle and real in how I care for my clients. This means that I’m here to highlight your strengths and there may also be times where we have uncomfortable and necessary conversations that come from a space of honor and genuine care to foster the change needed to reach what you are deserving of.

My clients and I are able to do meaningful, enriching work because I truly believe in them and they entrust me to help them realize that their desires can very much become reality.

We are going to laugh and we might shed some tears. Therapy does not have be a dreaded experience filled with anxiety in preparation for each session. I am committed to making the self-exploration process as enjoyable as possible, meaning that I bring my authentic self to help ease the concerns of judgment. Additionally, I develop unique experiences catered to your needs to help you grow and I’m regularly asking for your feedback and making adjustments so that I can make this experience one that you feel is truly beneficial.
